Quick Take: The One Thing Everyone Can Do

“The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you’re already dead. And the sooner you accept that, the sooner you’ll be able to function the way every soldier is supposed to function. Without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it.”

– Band of Brothers

I get it, we’re at that really awkward stage. We know that what is happening is wrong, we want to fight back, but we could really use 40 more hours of pay. Too many of us are submitting to testing because we think there’s still hope. Take a look at Southwest Airlines. According to the media, inclement weather forced Southwest to cancel nearly 2,000 flights. The mysterious weather condition seems to have only affected Southwest Airlines. The CEO, Gary Kelly went into damage control mode. The fact of the matter is that enough of the Southwest pilots accepted the fact that without action, they were good as dead. In that moment, they began fighting like dead men, men who had already been terminated. The result of their action made national news. At the same time, they have affirmed that that want to keep their jobs. These guys have a unique responsibility, if something goes wrong in the air, they are going down with the plane. If that’s not skin in the game, I don’t know what is.

Lets face it, testing is the primary tool being used against us. Many employers are only requiring testing of the “unvaccinated” despite the fact that the science is clear that the “vaccinated” can both catch and spread the virus. If this was truly about health and public safety, everyone would be tested regardless of vaccination status. The law allows us the ability to exempt ourselves from the testing option but no one is going to hold our hand and walk us through the process. We must educate ourselves on the laws of the land, or we will be complicit in our own demise. Exempting ourselves from the testing is the 10 meter target. If we are unwilling or unable to neutralize that avenue of oppression, we might as well lay down our arms. I understand that some are ok with the testing option, but we must understand that the rug will be eventually pulled out from underneath us. We’ve already seen this happen at the federal level. This is currently low intensity conflict, but it can escalate quickly and the same rules apply as a kinetic conflict. He who knows first, and learns fastest, wins.

Watch this brief clip of Dr. Andrew Kaufman. Each of us must think long and hard about how we will contribute to the fight. Are we sabotaging our own efforts by clinging to hope that we can avoid the inevitable, or are we fighting like dead men?
